We had 17 members participate in EVOC Training today. The class consisted of class room and hands on driver driving. Our drivers re-certify every 3 years and have continuous training each year.

Our 2019 Annual Fund Drive letters are in the mail. This years donations will go toward the purchase of a new Tanker/Pumper. We expect delivery of the new truck in late September 2019. The truck will replace a 1988 Pumper and a 1996 Tanker. We received notification that we have been awarded a $1500.00 matching grant from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation that will be used to purchase fire hose and portable scene lights. The total cost of the project is about $3000.00. The fire company must match the $1500.00 to get the full benefit of the grant.
Six members recently attended the NYSAFC Fire 2019 in Syracuse at the OnCenter.
Firefighter Brian Soules just completed the NYS SCBA/Interior Firefighting Operations Course that was held at the Jefferson County Fire Training Center in Watertown. The course consisted of 49 hours of Interior Firefighting Operations which includes extensive SCBA use and live fire operations training during the 16 nights of class. Congratulations to Brian!

Lorraine Vol. Fire Co. recently received a grant from the Northern NY Community Foundation Six Town Community Fund to purchase a new generator for use for emergency scene lighting and other on scene applications.
